DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVITIES

Principal activities of RCs:

  • Agricultural production and mechanised forestry services
  • Rural services in the private and public sectors
  • Consulting for project authors, such as farmers, local councils and private enterprises.

Over the last eight years, CEETTAR has developed a variety of specific activities, focusing particularly on:

  • General health and safety
    • Preventing industrial accidents (comparative study of the French, Danish and German systems) and sharing the good practices encountered

  • EU expansion
    • The national administrations of the new Member States still confine themselves excessively to a passive role and little information from European sources is circulated.

  • Restructuring of the sugar industry
    • The radical reforms of the Commission call for fair and balanced measures for ALL the interested parties. (Beet growers and agricultural contractors)
    • Ceettar works to defend the specific interests of ARCs, who truly are the invisible victims of the reforms.

  • Harmonisation of specific social provisions for road transport
    • Initiative targeting the European Parliament aimed at securing the exemption of RCs from the application of compulsory measures (tachographs, speed limits) by the new Regulation in question.

  • Directive on the thematic strategy for the sustainable use of pesticides, Services Directive
    • Joint initiative with COPA/COGECA aimed at defending the interests of RCs and farmers
